How Does Fraud Work?

Fake lawyer Yıldırım Bayraktar is not a lawyer registered with the Turkish Bar Association. Using this name, he sends messages to citizens via e-mail or SMS. The messages contain false information that an arrest warrant has been issued under the title “E-Signature Notification”. Citizens panicked by this false information are asked to click on the link in the message.

Citizens who click on the link are redirected to a fake website. On this website, money is demanded on false grounds such as a lawyer’s fee or an attachment debt. After depositing the money, the victims are unable to reach Attorney Yıldırım Bayraktar again.
